Declaration about those arrested in connection with the case of Russian embassy in Minsk

September, 3, 2010, early in the morning, Belarus police and special service men (“KGB”) arrested several guys and girls suspected in being involved into the case with Russian embassy in Minsk attacked on August, 30. The detention was very much like a kidnapping, because law-enforcement bodies did not release any information and for a long time friends and relatives were unaware about the location of the arrested.

Later it became known that the arrested were held in Minsk isolation ward. Belarus law says that person may be detained for 72 hours without bringing up a charge. This term expired on September, 6. However, public prosecutor prolonged it for three days more. As of now, seven friends of ours are arrested: Igor Bogachek, Valeriya Khotina, Sergey Sliusar, Nikolay Dedok, Alexey Zhingerovsky, Alexander Frantskevich and Anton Laptenok.

По моему мнению, налицо все признаки “раскачивания” предвыборной ситуации по сценарию, который мы уже наблюдали накануне выборов 2006 года. На сей раз — за счёт людей, исповедующих анархические взгляды.

Призываю аудиторию сайта и журналистов проявлять здравомыслие, и не допустить запуска в стране очередной волны политических репрессий.

Сем чалавек затрыманы ў рамках крымінальнай справы, якая заведзена паводле артыкулу “падпал”, — заявіў начальнік прэсавай службы менскай міліцыі Аляксандар Ластоўскі.

Раней прадстаўнікі МУС казалі, што крымінальная справа заведзена паводле артыкулу “хуліганства”.

Паводле Крымінальнага кодэксу Беларусі, максымальнае пакараньне за хуліганства — 3 гады пазбаўленьня волі. За падпал — да васьмі гадоў зьняволеньня.

3 верасьня супрацоўнікі сілавых структураў затрымалі сем актывістаў анархісцкага руху па справе аб выбуху каля расейскай амбасады.

Sept. 3 about 6 o’clock in the morning seven non-government activists were arrested by law enforcement bodies of Belarus. Six of them are held 38 hours in custody in the detention center of Minsk. The detainees were interrogated about their involvement in the pelting Molotov cocktails at the embassy of Russia in Minsk. Young people jointly rent an apartment in one district of Minsk. At 6-20 am a doorbell rang , one of the young men opened the door and law enforcement officers in civilian clothes immediately burst in the apartment.

All were present at the time in the apartment were taken to GUBOP Interior Ministry for questioning, the apartment was searched, five computers, two laptops, mobile phones, money, posters and magazines were confiscated. One of the detainees had been interrogated as a witness in a criminal case of an attack on the embassy of Russia and released about 19 hours.
